Read-only, forever
Fluide asks Plaid for one product, your transactions. There is no code in it that can move money, by design.
Fluide is a self-hosted finance app. It reads your accounts through Plaid, sorts transactions with rules and AI, asks you when it isn't sure, and answers questions from your own ledger.
Product preview with sample data: the Fluide Overview running at localhost:8080, then the Assistant answering why Shopping is up 38% this month, from the ledger.
Overview, Transactions, Accounts, Cash flow, Review and Assistant all read the same rows in your own ledger.
Rules and Settings are in the app too: eight views, one ledger.
Three things happen on this path, and you start each one.

The model picks a query. The ledger does the maths. Pick a local model and your question never leaves your machine.
Fluide opens one door, on the computer it runs on. Your ledger has no door at all.
Fluide answers on 127.0.0.1 only, so it's reachable from the computer it runs on, not from your network.
It sits on a private network inside the install. The app connects to it without admin rights.
Bank access, API keys and chats are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The key lives in its own place.
It runs as a regular user, can't change its own files, and has no special system permissions.
The first release: read-only bank sync, categorization and the assistant, in one docker-compose file.
Each view has its own address, so back, forward and bookmarks work.
Assistant chats are kept, encrypted, in a list under the chat for 30 days.
